SHOPPING:
Opening hours
 Shops are usually open between 09.00/10.00 until 17.00/19.00, and until 13.00 on Saturdays. In "Little Switzerland" many shops close between 12.00 and 15.00. There are also many 24-hour Non-Stop shops, including in Banya, and in tourist destinations such as Bansko many shops will be open all day Saturday and Sunday.
Payment
Cash is the predominant method of payment, although increasingly, but slowly, Credit Cards are being accepted. Some shops in tourist resorts will accept payment made in Euros and US dollars, but most prefer payment in Leva.
Refunds & exchanges
With Bulgaria's imminent accession to the EU shopper's rights as available in European countries are increasingly being introduced. Many places will exchange goods upon presentation of the original receipt, but refunds remain more problematic. In open-air street markets it is a case of buyer be ware!
